Being Eclectic in life and school

Most of my friends know that I am a rather eclectic person, I have no one set way of doing things, I like to try one thing many ways and that includes home-schooling.  I don’t care for labels when they belittle but my label of “eclectic” describes me perfectly and does not belittle my quest to educate my children at home.  I like most philosophies of education as long as it encourages imagination and creativity.  I don’t like the box set of learning for all children, each child is unique and I feel they deserve to learn in an environment that fits their learning style.

I found this great video, via one of my favorite spots (punkrockhomesteading.com), discussing unschooling and how a few families go about offering their children life learning.  It is awesome and wonderful to know your children and offer them what they need and to me this video gives a beautiful view of a great way to learn.

If you watch your children closely you will see that they are always seeking information and therefore learning everyday.

My daughter has an interest in health and nutrition and share daily with me tips and recipes she finds in her quest for yummy food that is not bad for you.  I love it!

Peace & Love
